Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT arrives to be the fastest SUV model of the brand

Attracting attention with its 640 hp V8 engine and dynamics specially revised for the model, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT reveals its difference in the family with its unique design details.

German manufacturer Porsche has lifted the veil on its new performance SUV, the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT . Coming to be the fastest SUV model of the brand, the new Cayenne Turbo GT can be preferred only with this body type, although it does not have the “Coupe” in its name.

What does the Cayenne Turbo GT offer?

At the heart of the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 unit. The same engine powers the current Turbo Coupe version, but the “GT” designation brings an extra 90 horsepower and 80 Nm of torque. This means that the Cayenne Turbo GT has 640 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. For this increase, the company revised parts such as the crankshaft, turbo and intercooler, and also used a lighter titanium exhaust system in the Cayenne Turbo GT.

The engine in the Cayenne Turbo GT is combined with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The transmission in question has revised software and additional cooling for the all-wheel drive system. Porsche underlines that gear shifts are faster in this way. The Cayenne Turbo GT accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds . The maximum speed value of the SUV was announced as 297 km / h . This makes the Turbo GT version the fastest and fastest accelerating member of the Cayenne family, according to the German brand.

Compared to the Turbo Coupe, the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is 17mm lower to the ground. According to the brand’s statement, every component in the chassis and active control systems has been overhauled to be specific to this model. These include the air suspension system, whose stiffness has been increased by 15 percent, active suspension management (PASM), dynamic chassis control (PDCC) and rear-axle steering.

Specially designed Pirelli tires are used on the performance SUV. In addition, the front wheels have been widened by 25 mm to increase grip and the torque steering system has been revised. Porsche also stated that the carbon composite brakes offered as standard have also been overhauled, but did not go into details. Equipped with 22-inch wheels, the Cayenne Turbo GT also has features such as a larger rear spoiler with fins around the edges and a carbon fiber rear diffuser.

The 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is now up for order and the first deliveries will begin at the end of the year. The starting price of the car is around 167,000 euros.
